France Design Week ecological focus

Overview

France Design Week has returned with a central theme of using design to address ecological, social, and economic challenges. The festival includes various regional exhibitions across France, such as in Tours and Normandy.

In Tours, the event features the Bux lamp by Roger Pradier, described as a “modern, eco-responsible version of a classic 20th-century flashlight” that utilizes recycled materials. In Normandy, programming includes conferences on ancestral textile techniques and upcycling workshops where old boat sails are transformed into everyday objects. The festival also includes showcases of monumental tapestries at the Mont-Saint-Michel abbey.
