France sees mixed results in Euro U18 basketball and open water swimming

In European sporting events, France's athletic teams saw mixed results in basketball and swimming.

In the Euro U18 women's basketball tournament, France advanced to the semifinals after a strong second-half performance. In other tournament play, Finland secured a semifinal spot by defeating Poland, while Croatia won their classification match against Montenegro. Germany defeated Montenegro to compete for 9th place.

In the European Open Water Swimming Championships held in Paris, the French mixed relay team finished in fourth place. The German team took the gold medal, followed by Italy in second and Hungary in third. French head coach Bertrand Bompieyre noted that the team's performance was consistent with expectations, stating, "Fourth, we are in our place on the relay." Despite missing the podium in the final open water event, the French team concluded the competition with two medals earned previously in the men's 3km knock-out.
