France sees rise in Covid-19 and respiratory infections

Covid-19 circulation is increasing in France following the return to school and office settings. Data from Santé publique France indicates a rise in respiratory infections across various age groups.

In the week of September 21 to 27, emergency department visits for suspected Covid-19 infections among adults rose by 22%. Additionally, consultations for suspected Covid-19 increased by 19% for all ages, while flu-related consultations for adults saw a 26% increase.

A new vaccination campaign is scheduled to begin on October 13 to address the resurgence of the virus.
