France's DGSI adopts French ChapsVision software, replacing Palantir

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that the Direction générale de la sécurité intérieure (DGSI) will migrate from the American Palantir Gotham system to the French‑developed ArgonOS platform of ChapsVision. The move, described as a “major sovereign” step, follows a 2016 contract with Palantir that runs until 2028 and reflects concerns about reliance on U.S. data‑analysis tools. The transition will be phased in over the coming years, aiming to give French authorities full control over sensitive intelligence data.

ChapsVision, founded by Olivier Dellenbach, has also been chosen by Germany’s Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, underscoring a broader European push for home‑grown security software. Legal scholar Driss Aît Youssef highlighted the importance of national mastery of data platforms for counter‑terrorism and other security missions.
