France Senate passes AI copyright safeguard; Tunisian MP calls for EU platform filter

The French Senate voted unanimously to adopt a draft law that creates a legal presumption that copyrighted works have been used by generative artificial‑intelligence systems. The measure, backed by the producers’ union PROCIREP, aims to give rights holders the ability to negotiate fair terms or collective management for AI use of their creations.

In a related development, Tunisian deputy Céline Calvez presented a report urging the European Union to require digital platforms to provide an easy‑to‑use filter that blocks content generated entirely by AI. She warned that unchecked AI‑generated material could flood cultural markets, dehumanise artistic creation and undermine employment, citing that 44 % of new music uploads on Deezer are already AI‑generated.

Both initiatives seek to protect human‑created cultural works as AI technologies spread across the media landscape.
