France sends 10 tons of humanitarian aid to Colombia

France has delivered 10 tons of humanitarian aid to Colombia to support families affected by a powerful earthquake. The shipment, which arrived on August 29, is intended to assist approximately 200 families impacted by the seismic event that occurred on August 10.

The aid package includes essential items such as tents, tarpaulins, floor mats, tools, and cooking sets, as well as equipment for water purification, hygiene, and sanitation. The delivery is being coordinated through the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs' Crisis and Support Centre, with support from the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

The supplies will be handed over to Colombia's National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), which is responsible for coordinating the official state response and distributing aid to affected communities. The earthquake, which had its epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó, affected multiple departments and caused significant damage to housing and infrastructure across the region.
