Other expensive locations include Pau (€415.80), La Rochelle (€414.40), Biarritz and Paris (around €406). The most affordable cities are Lyon (€309.40), Brest (€310.80), Toulouse (€310.80) and Nantes (€322). Corsica offers relatively modest rates, with Ajaccio at €338.80, well below the pricier coastal mainland spots. The price gap can reach €133 between the costliest and cheapest cities. Travelers can save by choosing alternative pick‑up points; for example, renting in Marseille costs €357.70 versus €433.30 in Nice, even after accounting for fuel and tolls.
