France Télévisions shifts summer games to repeats and expands Les Maternelles brand

During the summer of 2026, France Télévisions announced that its daily game shows on France 2, France 3 and France 4 will air only repeat episodes. New productions were halted from mid‑July, with a return of original formats scheduled for late August, a move presented as a cost‑saving measure.

At the same time, the broadcaster is launching a 24/7 thematic channel for its Les Maternelles brand. The new channel will offer a mix of existing videos on pregnancy, early childhood, health and family life, plus a daily hour of original content produced for streaming, podcasts and short daily news‑style clips. A weekly 65‑minute show will also air on France 2 from September, while the brand’s social‑media presence will be bolstered through podcasts hosted by Marie Portolano, Houssam Loussaïef and others.

Both initiatives aim to modernise the public broadcaster’s offering, reduce expenses on traditional game‑show production, and deepen its digital reach for parents and families.
