France to issue 100 euro fuel aid to 1.6 million drivers
Approximately 1.6 million people in France are scheduled to receive a 100 euro fuel assistance payment this Friday. The measure is designed to support frequent drivers, referred to as ‘grand rouleurs’, by helping to offset rising fuel costs during the final three months of the year.
Individuals who previously benefited from the government aid program in July will receive this payment automatically. However, those who were not eligible for the previous round but meet the newly expanded criteria must submit a formal request to receive the funds. The government recently increased the number of potentially eligible households from 3 million to over 5.5 million by adjusting income thresholds.
The administration describes this 100 euro disbursement as the equivalent of a 40 centime per liter reduction in fuel prices at the pump.
