France weather shifts to autumnal patterns during Toussaint holidays
France is experiencing a significant seasonal weather shift as the Toussaint school holidays begin. After a period of unseasonably warm and dry conditions, temperatures are expected to drop sharply, with some regions seeing a decrease of 10 to 15 degrees Celsius within 48 hours.
Weather patterns are becoming increasingly unstable. While parts of the West and Vendée may enjoy sunny intervals and relatively mild temperatures, other regions face more severe autumn conditions. A Mediterranean episode is anticipated, bringing heavy rains, potential thunderstorms, and risks of flooding or rising water levels, particularly in the Southeast and Cévennes areas.
Forecasts indicate a transition toward more frequent precipitation and Atlantic disturbances. While some models suggest a period of calmer, anticyclonic weather for the first week of the holidays, the overall trend points toward a more unsettled and humid autumnal regime across the country.
