France Week in Mexico 2026 announced to mark bicentennial

France and Mexico have announced the ‘France Week in Mexico 2026’ to celebrate the bicentennial of their diplomatic relations. The event, described as a major economic milestone, will take place in Mexico City from October 20 to 25, 2026.

French Ambassador Delphine Borione and Xavier de Bellefon, President of the French-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI France México), presented the initiative. They emphasized that the 200-year relationship has entered a new stage following President Emmanuel Macron’s visit in November 2025. This new phase focuses on cooperation regarding global challenges, including climate change, energy transition, biodiversity, health, and digitalization.

The program includes a strategic agenda of business, institutional, and cultural meetings. Following the Mexico City events, a B2C festival is scheduled for November 10–11 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, and another event will be held in Querétaro on December 3. The initiative aims to gather approximately 2,500 business leaders and expects over 8,000 visitors for the B2C festival.
