France-Mexico bicentennial diplomatic relations

Overview

France and Mexico have announced ‘France Week in Mexico 2026’ to commemorate the bicentennial of their diplomatic relations. The initiative, presented by French Ambassador Delphine Borione and Xavier de Bellefon of the French-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry, marks a new stage in the bilateral relationship following President Emmanuel Macron’s visit in November 2025.

The program focuses on cooperation regarding global challenges such as climate change, energy transition, biodiversity, health, and digitalization. Scheduled events include a series of business, institutional, and cultural meetings in Mexico City from October 20 to 25, 2026, followed by a B2C festival in Monterrey from November 10–11 and an event in Querétaro on December 3. The initiative expects to engage approximately 2,500 business leaders and over 8,000 festival visitors.
