France's 2026 Baccalaureate Exams Conclude with Final Written Tests

Around 3.5 million Baccalauréat papers were completed on Thursday, 18 June 2026, marking the end of the written portion of France’s national high‑school exam. The anonymous copies are first scanned onto the Ministry’s Santorin platform, then distributed to roughly 52 000 teachers who each correct about fifty scripts, earning about €5 per paper. Correctors follow detailed grading grids issued by national inspection commissions, which aim to ensure uniform standards from Rennes to Versailles. Use of artificial‑intelligence tools is prohibited, and lower‑scoring scripts are automatically double‑checked.

The final written subjects this year covered literature and ancient languages (Latin and Greek) and biology‑ecology. Results are slated for publication on 7 July 2026, after which candidates will sit the Grand oral between 22 June and 1 July. The process reflects the Ministry’s ongoing effort to harmonise grading and maintain exam integrity across the country.
