France's Arcom sanctions W9 for offensive remarks on Cyril Hanouna's show

The French audiovisual regulator Arcom issued six sanctions against the channel W9 (M6 Group) for separate segments of Cyril Hanouna's programme "Tout beau tout n9uf" broadcast on the "TBT9" show. The regulator criticised the use of the term "reine du couscous" to refer to former culture minister Rachida Dati, remarks linking Covid‑19 vaccination to cancer made by Didier Raoult, and sexist comments by comedian Jean‑Marie Bigard about minister Aurore Bergé. Arcom reminded the broadcaster to respect the rights of the person and to exercise caution when airing controversial extracts, noting that the show averaged 1.3 million viewers (about 6.8 % audience share). The authority had previously withdrawn the broadcast licence of the Canal+ C8 channel for repeated breaches.

The six intervened sequences span from mid‑September to early December 2025, reflecting Arcom's ongoing monitoring of television content for compliance with standards on respect for individuals and the avoidance of discriminatory or hateful language.
