France's August road traffic and fuel prices set to ease

The French traffic-monitoring agency Bison Futé identified five high‑risk periods for road congestion in August, flagging red or black days that typically fall on weekends and on Fridays and Mondays. Travelers are advised to plan journeys between Tuesday and Thursday when possible, and to shift departure or return dates by just one day to avoid severe bottlenecks on key routes such as the A6, A7, A10 and A63.

At the same time, fuel prices at French service stations have slipped below €2 per litre after the United States and Iran reached an agreement on 18 June to reopen the Strait of Ormuz. Brent crude fell to around $79 a barrel, prompting diesel to trade near €1.94 / L and unleaded 95‑E10 to dip under €1.92 / L. Analysts estimate motorists could save roughly €5‑10 per full tank, with the most pronounced benefit expected for those travelling in August.
