France's electronic invoicing reform reshapes credit managers and accountants
A survey of French credit managers shows that 81 % are directly involved in their companies' electronic invoicing projects, with 70 % having already selected an approved dematerialisation platform. While most firms have chosen a single platform, 23 % use multiple solutions and 7 % are still undecided. On technical details, 42 % plan to address invoices by SIREN, 16 % will combine SIREN/SIRET, another 16 % favour a SIREN with suffix, and 28 % remain uncertain.
Separately, French accountants highlight that 92 % of companies still rely on traditional banks to collect payments, yet 72 % encounter operational difficulties such as lack of visibility and high costs. Although 76 % express satisfaction with their current payment strategy, 70 % believe modernisation would bring tangible benefits. About 46 % of organisations are prepared to shift certain payment functions to specialised providers, especially larger firms where bank reliance drops to 64 %. A digital maturity gap persists, with 61 % of accountants considering themselves digitally advanced versus only 38 % of the firms they serve, underscoring the need for continued advisory support.
