Francesco Guccini, one of Italy’s most celebrated singer‑songwriters, poet and novelist, died on 6 August 2026 at the age of 86 in his home village of Pavana. He was surrounded by his wife Raffaella Zuccari and his daughter Teresa, and the family announced a private funeral with a public commemorative ceremony planned for September.

Guccini left a vast cultural legacy: 30 albums (17 studio), the last studio record “Canzoni da intorto” (2022), and classic songs such as “La Locomotiva”, “Dio è morto” and “L’Avvelenata”. He also authored several novels; a post‑humous work titled *Calde le pere* is scheduled for publication in September.

Tributes poured in from the Italian music world, including a heartfelt message from rocker Vasco Rossi calling Guccini “the great Maestro”. In Bologna, the historic Osteria delle Dame, which Guccini co‑founded in 1970, is set to reopen as a museum in September, preserving the venue that hosted many of his early performances.
