Francesco Guccini: Tribute concerts and posthumous book release announced

Following the death of legendary Italian singer-songwriter and author Francesco Guccini on August 6 at age 86, several tributes have been announced to honor his musical and literary legacy.

In Calabria, two tribute concerts will be held to celebrate his life and work. The events, featuring his long-time musicians known as “Musici” — including Juan Carlos “Flaco” Biondini, Vince Tempera, Antonio Marangolo, Ellade Bandini, and Giacomo Marzial — are scheduled for December 17 at the Teatro Politeama in Catanzaro and December 18 at the Teatro Cilea in Reggio Calabria. These performances conclude the 40th edition of the Fatti di Musica festival.

In the literary sphere, a posthumous book titled “Calde le pere! – Storia di un fiume e di una integerrima fanciulla” is being released by Giunti. The short novel, which Guccini worked on until his final days, draws inspiration from his roots in the Pistoia Apennines, specifically the locality of Pavana.
