Franco Colapinto finishes ninth at Italian Grand Prix

Franco Colapinto secured a ninth-place finish at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, scoring two points for Alpine. Despite the result, the Argentine driver expressed significant frustration following a mistake at the Lesmo corners that caused him to lose control and drop to 16th place during the race.

Prior to the race, the FIA issued a disciplinary reprimand to Colapinto for violating driving regulations during the formation laps. The investigation found he had crossed the white line and exceeded the permitted lane for exiting the pits, violating Article 12.2.1.i of the International Sporting Code. This sanction did not affect his final race position.

Colapinto’s performance drew praise from former driver David Coulthard, who noted his potential to remain in Formula 1. Looking ahead, Colapinto is preparing for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix at the new Madring circuit in Madrid, a venue he knows well from having previously lived in the city.
