Franco Colapinto renews with Alpine F1 for 2027 season

Alpine F1 Team has officially confirmed that Argentine driver Franco Colapinto will remain with the squad for the 2027 season. Colapinto will continue to partner with Pierre Gasly, maintaining the driver lineup for a third consecutive year.

The decision follows a strong 2026 campaign in which the 23-year-old secured 19 points across twelve Grands Prix, including notable finishes such as sixth place in Canada and seventh in Miami. Alpine executive advisor Flavio Briatore praised Colapinto’s growth and maturity, stating, “Franco belongs to Formula One and belongs to this team.”

By securing Colapinto, Alpine aims to prioritize stability as the team works toward improving car performance and climbing the constructors' championship. The renewal also ends speculation regarding potential driver changes, such as a return by Fernando Alonso.
