Franco Colapinto secures Alpine seat and attracts F1 interest

Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto has secured his position with the Alpine team for the 2027 season. His recent performances, including a ninth-place finish at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, have transitioned his reputation from a rising prospect to a consolidated driver on the grid.

Colapinto has demonstrated notable consistency, being the only driver this season to complete every Grand Prix without a retirement. This reliability, combined with his competitive pace, has reportedly drawn direct interest from other Formula 1 team principals, according to paddock journalist Juan Fossaroli.

The Argentine driver's journey to the top tier of motorsport involved significant personal and financial sacrifices. To fund his progression into Formula 4, his family sold their home. His early career was marked by moving from Argentina to Italy at age 14, where he lived in a factory to learn the technical aspects of kart construction.
