Franco Colapinto finishes seventh at Spanish Grand Prix

Argentine driver Franco Colapinto secured a seventh-place finish at the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, driving for Alpine. After starting ninth, Colapinto executed a strong start to gain two positions early in the race. Despite facing tire degradation issues, a strategic pit stop during a Virtual Safety Car period—triggered by Lance Stroll Jr.’s retirement—allowed him to switch to hard tires and maintain a competitive pace.

Colapinto’s performance earned him six points, bringing his season total to 27 and maintaining his position in 12th in the Drivers' Championship. Following the race, Colapinto celebrated by waving an Argentine flag, which was handed to him by track marshal Gabriel Andrijciw, a moment that gained significant social media attention.

The race was won by Andrea Kimi Antonelli for Mercedes, followed by Max Verstappen (Red Bull) in second and Lando Norris (McLaren) in third. Antonelli’s victory further extends his lead in the championship standings.
