Franco Colapinto slated for Alpine retention and Goodwood showcase
Alpine is reportedly strengthening its commitment to Argentine driver Franco Colapinto, with the team and advisor Flavio Briatore indicating the possibility of extending his contract beyond the 2026 season and into the new 2027 regulations cycle. The French outfit views the 23‑year‑old as a long‑term development project, citing his work ethic, adaptation to Formula 1 and close ties with engineers.
Colapinto will also appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England on 12 July, piloting the 2012 Lotus E20 he previously drove in Buenos Aires’s street‑car show that attracted over 600,000 spectators. The exhibition provides the young Alpine driver with a high‑profile international platform and a nostalgic link to his earlier Argentine showcase.
