Frankfurt Book Fair to feature restructured layout and AI focus

The Frankfurt Book Fair is set to return from October 7 to 11, 2026, featuring a restructured layout due to structural issues in Hall 6. This reorganization will relocate approximately 500 international publishers and various literary rights centers to different halls.

This event marks the final fair under Director Juergen Boos, who will be succeeded by Joachim Kaufmann. The fair expects over 200,000 visitors and 4,000 exhibitors. The program will feature 2,300 events, with a significant focus on the evolution of rights—moving from print to digital, streaming, and film adaptations.

Artificial intelligence remains a central theme for the industry. The fair will host numerous sessions regarding AI in academic publishing, its impact on culture, and its use in the Asian publishing market. Additionally, the Frankfurt Rights Meeting will celebrate its 40th anniversary, serving as a major hub for international licensing professionals.
