Fratelli d'Italia champions territorial cohesion at EU policy forum in Rome

A delegation of Fratelli d'Italia and the European Conservatives and Reformists met in Rome at the European Parliament on 11 July 2026. The event, titled “La forza dei territori – Coesione e competitività: la sfida italiana per l'Europa”, highlighted the party’s view that Italy’s development depends on strong local territories and effective EU cohesion policy.

Speakers included Senator Annamaria Fallucchi, who stressed the role of mayors and local administrators, and Arianna Meloni, who praised the Meloni government for creating more than 1.5 million jobs. European Commission Vice‑President Raffaele Fitto also addressed the gathering, affirming that cohesion funds are essential for growth, competitiveness and narrowing regional gaps. The participants argued that a stronger Europe must start from the territories, and that Italy’s approach under the current government enhances the country’s credibility and influence within the EU.
