Fratelli d'Italia continued to push a territorial agenda throughout July 2026. After a European Parliament forum in Rome on 11 July that linked mayors, EU cohesion funds and the promise of 1.5 million jobs, the party held provincial congresses on 18 July in Sassari (Sardinia) and Cosenza (Calabria) to renew leadership and prepare for upcoming elections.

On 16 July the party announced further organisational moves: three municipal councillors in Angri joined the party, forming a new local group and prompting regional officials to note a stronger opposition in Salerno province. A youth conference of Gioventù Nazionale in Agrigento refreshed the provincial board, electing Calogero Sciarrotta as coordinator and naming Carmelo Porrello city coordinator for Naro. At the Sassari congress Alessandro Mura was chosen as provincial coordinator, pledging to channel cohesion funds to narrow gaps between cities and smaller communes.

The party confirmed a demonstration in Reggio Emilia for 20 July, demanding the eviction of occupants of the Aq16 social centre, which it described as illegal and unsafe. On 17 July representatives reiterated that the protest sought “legality and transparency”, while activists, the CGIL union and the ANPI veterans’ association warned against “post‑fascist” forces and called for a municipal‑council debate.

On 31 July Fratelli d'Italia influenced local council decisions: in Brindisi the party’s proposal to allow seasonal, removable structures on agricultural coastal zones was approved, hailed as ending an eleven‑year delay. In Trani the party criticised the mayor’s five‑year programmatic lines, highlighting a recent waste‑service tax increase and a proposal to reopen the town landfill as contrary to sustainability goals.

These steps underline the party’s strategy of combining territorial‑cohesion initiatives with direct confrontations on local social‑policy issues while facing organised civil‑society opposition.
