Frecciarossa service to Cilento vanishes, consumer group Codacons calls it a scam

The Frecciarossa 9515 Milan–Sapri train, scheduled to run from 19 June to 27 September on weekends, appears in RFI timetables but is absent from Trenitalia’s booking system. Instead, travellers are forced to change trains at Salerno, leaving commuters and tourists in the Cilento region without reliable service.

Codacons Campania president Matteo Marchetti accused the situation of “playing a three‑card trick”, demanded clarification from the regional transport assessor and the Ministry, and pledged to monitor the service. The lack of clear information has sparked protests from local residents and tourism operators who rely on the connection for the summer season.
