Freddie Slater takes pole position for Formula 3 Monza round

Freddie Slater, the Formula 3 championship leader driving for Trident, secured pole position for the penultimate round of the 2026 season at the Monza National Circuit in Italy. Slater recorded a best lap time of 1:38.114.

Matteo De Palo, also representing Trident, will start alongside Slater in the main race after leading Group A with a time of 1:38.143. Other notable qualifiers include Nicola Lacorte in third and Kanato Le in fourth.

Brazilian drivers saw mixed results in the qualifying session. Fernando Barrichello, driving for AIX Racing, secured 10th place on the grid, marking his best qualifying performance of the year. Pedro Clerot of Rodin Motorsport will start 11th. Meanwhile, championship runner-up Ugo Ugochukwu faces a difficult weekend; following a mistake in Group B, he will start 25th for both the Sprint and the main race due to a five-position grid penalty.
