Free health screenings held in Rocca di Papa and Perugia

On Saturday, July 4, the ASL Roma 6 health authority organized a free‑of‑charge health‑promotion morning in the Parco "La Pompa" in Rocca di Papa. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. residents could receive medical consultations, posture checks, fungal‑search services for foraged mushrooms, HPV and travel vaccinations, and free cancer screenings, including colon‑rectal kits and mammography for women aged 50‑74. The event also offered complimentary dog micro‑chip implantation as part of the "Tendi la zampa" project.

A week earlier, on Saturday, June 29, the province of Perugia and the local hospital partnered with the volunteer group Piede Diabetico Umbria ODV to host "Salute a km 0" at the Orti di Ponte della Pietra. The gathering highlighted the role of urban gardens in community well‑being, with 197 plots tended by 185 gardeners. Free screenings for diabetes and diabetic foot risk were provided by specialist doctors, and local officials, including vice‑president Laura Servi, emphasized that "these green spaces are a stronghold of health and sociality". Both events aimed to bring preventive care directly to citizens in informal, accessible settings.
