Free literary festivals sweep Argentine cities of Cipolletti and Río Grande
Cipolletti will hold the Semana de las Letras from 16 to 19 June, offering free workshops, book presentations, storytelling sessions, exhibitions and talks aimed at all ages. Organized by the Casa del Escritor and local cultural groups, the program opens with a homage to Jorge Luis Borges on the anniversary of his death and includes activities such as a book‑object workshop, a recycled‑book workshop, a literary café and a presentation of the play Tres de leyenda.
In Río Grande, a family‑focused weekend of cultural events runs on 13‑14 June. Highlights include the presentation of two books by author Catalina Fava – “Cuando la tierra se vuelve hogar” and “Patio de la abuela” – at the Virginia Choquintel Museum. The city also hosts a market for local producers, a “Paseo Canto del Viento” with stalls for artisans and entrepreneurs, a literary bazaar with live readings and performances, and a “Matsuri”‑style entertainment lineup featuring K‑pop dance, cosplay contests and games.
