Free mammogram programmes rolled out in Argentina and Spain

Argentina's Ministry of Health will hold a free‑mammogram event on 1 July for uninsured women aged 40‑70. The "Tarde de las Mamografías" will offer 35 slots per machine at hospitals in San Juan province and mobile units, with appointments booked via a dedicated phone line.

Spain's health ministry reports a decline in breast‑cancer screening: only 68% of women aged 50‑69 have had a mammogram in the past two years, down from 81.5% in 2017. The drop is most pronounced among socially disadvantaged groups, highlighting ongoing inequalities in preventive care.
