Free migraine consultations offered at Siena hospital on June 17

The University Hospital of Siena (AOUS) will host free neurologist appointments for migraine sufferers on Wednesday, 17 June, from 13:00 to 16:00. The open‑hour service will be run by specialists Dr. Alessandra Rufa and Dr. Stefania Battistini in the hospital’s outpatient clinic.

The event is part of the fourth edition of Open Week Emicrania, organised by the Fondazione Onda ETS. Over 140 hospitals in the network carry the “Pink Badge” for women’s health, and AOUS holds three such badges, highlighting its focus on a condition that affects about 14 % of adults worldwide and more than six million Italians, predominantly women.

Migraine is a chronic neurological disorder that often remains under‑diagnosed and under‑treated, with typical waiting times for a first specialist visit ranging from two to six months. The free consultations aim to reduce these barriers and provide immediate assessment and information to patients.
