Free Parking Lot Opens in Torrette, Fano to Ease Tourist Season
A new free parking facility with more than 200 spaces was inaugurated in the Torrette district of Fano, Italy. The project was presented by Francesco Tritto, coordinator of the civic list Fano Cambia Passo, who praised assessor Alessio Curzi for swiftly responding to local concerns and delivering the work ahead of schedule. The parking area, located on via Pigafetta, aims to compensate for temporary disruptions caused by the Adriatic Cyclovia construction and to support tourism and businesses in Torrette and Ponte Sasso.
The development is part of a broader two‑year investment plan in southern Fano that has allocated €17 million to hydraulic safety, cliff protection and soft mobility projects. Further upgrades to the Torrette site are planned for September, including a full urbanisation scheme. Local officials, including mayor Luca Serfilippi, highlighted the parking lot as a priority for peripheral neighborhoods.
