Adriatic Link compensation upgrades in Fano & Carrara

In late July 2026, the municipality of Fano opened a free parking facility with over 200 spaces in the Torrette district and shortly thereafter introduced a free summer shuttle service linking Torrette and Ponte Sasso. Both measures aim to ease seasonal traffic, support tourism and complement the broader two‑year €17 million investment plan for infrastructure, hydraulic safety and soft‑mobility.

At the same time, the nearby town of Carrara approved a €9 million public‑investment programme tied to the Adriatic Link compensation framework. The plan, presented at a public assembly on 27 July, includes a new roundabout linking provincial roads 3 Flaminia and 80 Carrara, a 2.5‑km bike lane on a former railway corridor, upgrades to storm‑water, water, gas and sewage networks, and the conversion of a former school into a community hub. Alessio Curzi, who also coordinated the Fano initiatives, participated in the Carrara announcement.

Together, the projects illustrate a regional effort to channel compensation funds from the Adriatic Link infrastructure into local mobility improvements, parking solutions and urban regeneration across multiple municipalities.
