Free summer concerts light up Oosterhout and Enschede in the Netherlands
The Explosion Rockets performed a free afternoon concert on Sunday at the Hatsiekedeeplein in Oosterhout, starting at 15:00. The show was part of the town’s 2026 summer programme and featured classic rock‑and‑roll hits from artists such as Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly, drawing crowds to the historic market square.
In Enschede, the 15th edition of Bölke Open Air took place on the Oude Markt, celebrating its roots in the city’s gay disco ’t Bölke. The festival, broadcast on TV Oost on 25 July, offered a mix of live music, drag shows and dance acts. Highlights included the opening performance by DJ Djoi, who lives with an intellectual disability, and sets by veteran local DJs Marcel Spijkerman and internationally‑known Justin Strikes, who performed shortly after a slot at Tomorrowland.
