France's 2026 brevet (middle‑school diploma) results have been released, marking a key rite of passage for students heading to secondary education. Achieving a "Bien", "Très bien" or "Très bien avec les félicitations du jury" now qualifies eligible pupils for the state merit scholarship, providing between €134 and €334 per quarter – up to €1,002 for the full school year.

Local authorities also award bonuses, with some municipalities granting cash prizes such as €100 in Vaylats, Lot.
