French and Quebec markets show divergent annual and monthly trends

Financial markets in France and Quebec have shown divergent performance trends over recent periods. In France, annual market data reveals significant volatility. France Tourisme saw a massive 700% increase, while the TEC 10 index rose by nearly 40%. Conversely, several major companies experienced sharp declines, including LVMH, Vivendi, and Nexity.

Regarding specific equities, Deutsche Bank has raised its price target for Pernod Ricard to 63 euros. While the bank lowered its organic revenue growth forecasts for the group, it cited the appreciation of the US dollar as a favorable factor for earnings per share. In contrast, Jefferies maintains a more bullish outlook with a 90 euro target.

In Quebec, the top 50 companies by market capitalization faced a difficult September 2026. Most companies saw declines, with an average unweighted return of -3.20%. While 5N Plusa (+28.18%) and TECSYS (+25.10%) led gains, major players like Alimentation Couche-Tard and Banque Nationale also saw losses. The apparel sector, specifically Gildan Activewear and Groupe Dynamite, experienced notable downturns.
