French biathlete Lubin Amiotte reveals burnout as Italian ski star Federica Brignone faces injury doubts

French biathlete Lubin Amiotte publicly disclosed a burnout diagnosis after a 4½‑month break from training, saying she will aim to regain fitness before the new season starts. She joined the newly formed Nova Biathlon Team and stressed the need to rebuild her training rhythm and enjoy the sport again.

Italian ski Olympian Federica Brignone, recovering from a severe fall that caused multiple fractures and a torn knee ligament, spent a holiday on Sardinia with teammates Laura Pirovano and Asja Zenere. Despite winning World Cup gold this season, Brignone said she still experiences daily pain and remains uncertain about returning to competition, indicating she will decide on a full season only if she can train without limitation.

Both athletes illustrate the physical and mental challenges elite winter‑sport competitors face when dealing with injury and burnout, and they each plan a cautious return to competition in the upcoming season.
