French Development Agency Director visits Serbia to discuss investment

Serbian government officials met with Christophe Le Curtier, the Director General of the French Development Agency (AFD), to discuss expanding cooperation in economy, infrastructure, and applied sciences. This meeting marks Le Curtier’s first official visit to a European country since assuming office in May.

Discussions focused on new development projects and the impact of the upcoming Expo 2027 in Belgrade, which is expected to intensify interest from institutional investors. Officials noted that 80 percent of all French investments in the Western Balkans are located in Serbia. The talks also emphasized maintaining macroeconomic stability and fiscal discipline to support continued economic growth.
