French gendarmes intercept drivers for major speeding violations

French gendarmes have intercepted two drivers for significant speeding violations in separate incidents.

In the Orne region near Mortagne-au-Perche, a 23-year-old driver on a probationary license was caught traveling at 166 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the RN12. Following the stop, the driver also tested positive for cannabis.

In the Meuse department, motorcyclists from Bar-le-Duc intercepted a driver traveling at 171 km/h (with 162 km/h recorded) on a road limited to 110 km/h. The driver faced a fine, license retention, and vehicle immobilization.
