French media reports show strong radio, TV, and press performance
Recent media data from Médiamétrie and other agencies reveals diverse trends across French radio, television, and press. In the radio sector, the 2024-2026 audience map shows significant regional variations. Brittany leads among the 12 studied regions with a 72.2% daily listener rate, while the Haute-Saône department recorded the highest cumulative audience at 75.8%.
Television audiences saw notable shifts driven by major sporting events. France Télévisions reported record audience shares for the Tour de France Femmes, with live broadcasts on France 2 averaging a 32.9% share. In July, France 2 led channel audiences, doubling the share of TF1. M6 also saw strong performance, achieving its best month since 2006, bolstered by football World Cup coverage. Kantar Media noted that M6's broadcasts of the French national team's matches generated approximately 99.4 million euros in gross advertising investment.
In the print sector, ACPM data indicates that the paid circulation of the seven national daily newspapers grew by 3.80% year-on-year in June 2026, reaching 1.61 million copies per day.
