French medical centers launch September cancer awareness campaigns

Medical institutions in France are launching major awareness campaigns throughout September to focus on blood, pediatric, and gynecological cancers.

In Dijon, the CHU Dijon Bourgogne is dedicating the month to hematology, gynecology, and pediatric oncology. The hospital will host public information sessions to discuss therapeutic progress, including advancements in immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and CAR-T cell treatments. These events aim to connect patients and the public with medical professionals and researchers to better understand various pathologies and care pathways.

In Lyon, the Centre Léon Bérard is participating in the ‘Septembre en Or’ initiative to combat pediatric and adolescent cancers. With approximately 2,400 children and adolescents affected by cancer annually in France, the center will host a public event on September 15, 2026. In collaboration with the Hospices Civils de Lyon and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, the session will highlight research into tumor cell targeting, leukemia microenvironments, and the transition from fundamental research to clinical trials.
