French regional bus networks undergo major restructuring

Public transportation networks in different French regions are undergoing significant restructuring to improve service and accessibility.

In the Royan Atlantique Agglomeration area, the Cara’bus network will evolve starting September 1, 2026. The changes include new lines such as Line 12, replacing Line 6 to connect La Tremblade to Royan via Arvert, and Line 20, replacing Line 5 to connect Les Mathes to Royan. The updated network will offer extended hours from 7:00 to 20:00, Monday through Saturday, and introduces a new mobile application for scheduling and ticket validation. Additionally, the Cara’mobile service will provide on-demand transport for eligible persons with reduced mobility.

In the Val Parisis territory, Île-de-France Mobilités has redesigned the bus network to enhance local coverage and clarity. Effective August 3, 2026, the restructuring features optimized routes and new numbering. In Ermont, three major lines have been established: Line 14-21, connecting Ermont-Eaubonne and Montigny-Beauchamp stations; Line 14-14, linking Saint-Leu-la-Forêt and Sannois stations; and Line 14-24, serving Ermont, Franconville, Le Plessis-Bouchard, and Sannois.
