French State Implements New Anti‑Narcotics Measures in Bouches‑du‑Rhône

One year after the June 2025 law aimed at curbing narcotics trade, the French prefecture in Bouches‑du‑Rhône has taken 337 administrative actions to disrupt drug networks.

The measures include 49 eviction procedures targeting traffickers in social housing, resulting in ten units being cleared and several occupants leaving voluntarily. Additionally, 237 administrative bans on appearing at drug‑deal points or in building commons have been issued, 91 % of them in Marseille and 15 % directed at minors. The authorities also use the law’s powers to close businesses suspected of supporting the illicit economy, complementing traditional police investigations and court prosecutions.
