French towns host weekend cinema and music festivals

In the town of Droyes, the fourth edition of the Ciné‑Rives festival continued on Sunday, offering a free programme that combined film screenings with live music. Four films were shown, including the documentary “Nous l’Orchestre” about the Paris National Orchestra and the drama “Marguerite” starring Catherine Frot. Musical interludes featured local ensembles such as the Harmonie and the Ensemble philharmonique de Saint‑Dizier, and a live concert by the acoustic duo Moena.

Elsewhere in southwestern France, several municipalities organised cultural activities. At Orthevielle, an outdoor cinema screening of the film “La petite vadrouille” was part of the “les Nuits étoilées” festival, accompanied by a barbecue. Additional events listed across Dax, Monfort‑en‑Chalosse, Peyrehorade and Saugnac‑et‑Cambran included museum workshops, family visits, a traditional “quilles” game, and a reggae concert.
