French towns unveil summer leisure programs for August 2026
The city of Toulouse will turn the Prairie des Filtres into a temporary beach venue called Toulouse Plages from 3 to 9 August 2026. The week‑long program offers free access to sun‑shaded lounging areas, a “Biblioplage” library, picnic zones, beach‑volleyball, sandball, beach‑rugby, canoe‑kayak and stand‑up paddle sessions on the Garonne, as well as morning yoga, fitness classes and evening Zumba.
In nearby Pibrac, the municipality launches the first Guinguette de l’Esplanade, a series of three free‑entry summer evenings on 31 July‑1 August, 7‑8 August and 14‑15 August. The events feature drinks, tapas, child‑friendly entertainment and a festive outdoor atmosphere on the Esplanade Sainte‑Germaine, beginning at 18 h each night.
