Frente Amplio coalition faces candidate registration deadline

The Frente Amplio coalition is approaching the deadline to register its candidate lists for the November 29 elections. As the deadline nears, several constituencies across Andalusia, Galicia, the Basque Country, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, and Castilla y León still lack designated candidates for Congress.

The coalition finalized its initial electoral framework on October 23 following negotiations that resulted in a break with Podemos but reaffirmed alliances with territorial partners such as Chunta Aragonesista and Compromís. While leaders have suggested lists will be present in most provinces, uncertainty remains regarding the province of Teruel, where Chunta Aragonesista has opted to leave the progressive path entirely to the PSOE.

Campaign spokesperson and Minister Pablo Bustinduy has stated that the coalition aims to be a nationwide option for the working classes, though he has not clarified if further agreements will be made to include independent candidates from Podemos, similar to arrangements seen in the Balearic Islands.
