Frida Kahlo exhibition opens at London's Tate Modern
London’s Tate Modern is hosting a major exhibition titled “Frida: The Making of an Icon,” showcasing more than 200 items that include the artist’s paintings, personal clothing, jewelry, medical instruments and photographs, as well as works by artists influenced by her. The show broke the museum’s pre‑sale record with over 41,000 tickets sold before opening and will run until January 2027.
A second Frida‑focused show, “100 FRIDAS para FRIDA,” curated by visual artist Fernando Aroche Bello and the ÁREA 7 initiative, will open on 3 September at the Blank Canvas gallery in Fulham. The collective exhibition features works by one hundred Mexican artists created to honor Kahlo’s legacy and will be accompanied by related murals and a street‑level art installation throughout the city.
