FRITZ! announces new router models and trade-in promotion

The German manufacturer FRITZ! is launching several initiatives and new hardware for its router lineup. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the company has introduced an ‘Old for New’ promotion running until September 30, 2026. Under this program, customers owning qualifying older FRITZ! Box models can receive a 40 Euro cashback voucher toward the purchase of a current router model by returning their old device for recycling.

In terms of new hardware, the company is introducing the FRITZ!Box DSL/Fiber 7-90, which marks a shift in the brand’s model numbering logic. While the new 7-90 model utilizes Wi-Fi 7 across all bands, technical comparisons suggest that the existing FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro may remain a more efficient choice for certain users. Despite being priced lower at 339.99 Euro, the 5690 Pro offers higher gross data rates and more data streams on the 6 GHz band compared to the 7-90, which is expected to retail for approximately 429 Euro.
