Fritz releases FritzOS 8.40 beta updates for routers and repeaters

Fritz has released new beta updates for FritzOS 8.40, targeting several hardware components including the FritzBox 5690 Pro, FritzBox 5590 Fiber, and various repeaters and mesh sets.

For the FritzBox routers, the update aims to reduce message loss by optimizing communication with the app, improve audio connection speeds for DECT phones using the ‘HD preferred’ setting, and resolve a DNS filter error regarding false memory shortage notifications. The updates for the FritzRepeater 6000, 3000 AX, 1200 AX, and the FritzMesh Set 1600 focus on enhancing WLAN stability during setting changes and improving overall system stability.
